Milo Greene digging into s'mores in Choco Lands
Burrito from El Toro Taqueria
Today San Francisco emerges intact from the enormous musical dust cloud that was Outside Lands 2013 at Golden Gate Park. As you reflect on that 50-person bathroom rooftop dance party during Phoenix’s set, and Trent Reznor’s 20-foot face shooting from a ball of Nine Inch Nails’ hellfire, aren’t you curious what the bands ate before and after their sets? In Reznor’s case, it was cookies. Nine Inch Nails ordered 30 big ones from Epic Cookies before they went on stage on Saturday night. We asked dozens of publicists and tour managers to fill us in on the meals, treats, snacks and libations that sustained their bands over the past three days at Outside Lands. Find out what they had to say for themselves below.
7) Gabe Simon of Kopecky Family Band grabbed an iced almond milk latte and a blackberry pistachio croissant from Four Barrel on Valencia Street. On the festival grounds, he also ate a margherita pizza from Del Popolo, which he dubbed “insane.”
8) When Midi Matilda wasn't snacking on peaches from Berkeley Bowl, they were grabbing pizza from Escape from New York. They also ate Epic Cookies from Choco Lands, plantain arepas and yucca fries from Pica Pica, and veggie tofu tacos in the VIP tent.
Update: Kevin Carducci of The Easy Leaves writes in to say that he grabbed a basic margherita pizza from the Casey's Pizza truck, yesterday in the VIP section. He said it was "the perfect meal at the end of a long day before making the hour and a half long drive up north."
