"This is a wonderful Turkish restaurant. Their baklava is the best I've ever tasted, and they make flatbreads that are out of this world. Their lahmacun is like a Turkish-style pizza, with a dough that's so crisp and multi-layered. And their eggplant flatbread is exceptional." 2125 Fillmore St. (Near California St.), 415-563-1000

"Even though I like Saigon Sandwich in the Tenderloin, this modern Vietnamese banh mi place has flavors that are true. The Sloppy Joe is good, and I like the catfish banh mi very much. It's hot and crisp and sweet, with a little red curry aioli, perfect for a quick bite." 2015 Fillmore St. (Near Pine St.), 415-800-7696
"OK, it's not exactly Pac Heights, but it's close enough. This great Japanese market has perfectly balanced ponzu that really tastes like yuzu. As for the food to go, I get the vegetarian sushi. It's always fresh because they constantly refill the case—I'm sure people live on it." 1737 Post St. (Near Webster St.), 415-563-1901
